Risthel's meadhouse

Description

Located to the south of Wolfmark, the forest of Risthel sports a small and hidden wood elf settlement. It was founded on a date unknown, most likely predating the arrival of the empire in the region, and possibly tracing back to the long forgone war of the beard. Risthel people are seclusive and keep among themselves, hiding their village from the sight of local human and dwarven communities.

Their diminutive size and their seclusiveness make it almost like a beacon of peace in the region, totally shredded by war and chaos. Due to the death of their last treesinger, the community cannot expend nor even repair their damaged building, made into the very living trees of the woodlands they inhabit. This generation of woodelves in the Wolfmark region is probably the last - as they will probably have no choice but to move to Wolfmark when life will become impossible, and it most likely will.

In the meantime, Risthel's elven community is administred by a council of elders, and protected by citizen-soldiers, in a perfectly generic elven fashion. They feed of mostly game, and make a kind of weak alcohol out of conifer nuts. Elven arrows are also available here, but the settlement lack any kind of advanced industry.

A bit more to come.

That's an interesting effect!  The idea of elves magically shaping trees into houses rarely looks so well portrayed.  That you were able to organically create a treehouse that looks like it grew that way and still look like a house is pretty extraordinary.  Not many fantasy professionals have done so well.

Although, I've already come to see you as the 'artist who renders wood well'!  Here, though, I see you can also do well with the living variety.
